Downtown Portland architects needed lighting design expertise for their own professional space.
The Kaplan Thompson firm was expanding to larger, but darker rooms. The challenge: cost effective, beneficial lighting for design professionals’ workspace.
The key was to creatively and inexpensively illuminate both the vertical and horizontal surfaces. Affordabe custom light fixtures were designed in collaboration wth the cients. Grazing the brick walls and up lighting the wooden ceiling provided warmth, interest, and a counterpoint to the low glare work area lighting.
This collaboration resulted in highly functional lighting as well as a pleasing atmosphere for creative work.
